Who is Panther ?
“I started making boards at the age of 20, in my grandfather’s garage in the Landes region of France. First for myself, then for friends, at a time when Instagram wasn’t what it is now and information on shaping was distilled through dusty forums mostly in English.
Blindly, I shapped, tested and screwed up a number of boards to get to grips with the “whys and wherefores” and understand the aquadynamics of a surfboard. More than 10 years later, I’ve got a workshop where I go every day to build boards in the most accomplished way possible, so that everyone who surfs my boards feels pleasure, because that’s what surfing’s all about, isn’t it?
Control freak and more than a perfectionist (I’m not the one to say so), I attach the same importance to each and every board I’m asked to create. Hundreds of boards after my very first ones, I still enjoy meeting and talking with the workshop’s customers, so as to be able to shaper the board they need or want.
Honestly not the most responsive by phone, feel free to contact me by email or instagram to discuss your future new toy.”
Panther Workshop
67 avenue du Marechal Juin, Biarritz. At the end of the cul-de-sac, on the left. A stone’s throw from Viral (convenient) and a few hundred meters from Biarritz airport. We’re not visible from the road, so we park as best we can in the small parking lot, and the dog barks just about 24/24, so welcome to the workshop.
Here you can drop off a board for repair to Anthony, have your personal shapes glazed, rent one of our models to get an idea of a shape, come and see the new stock boards for sale, buy a daggerboard or simply come and discuss a board project.
At the workshop, there’s often a hive of activity, with friends dropping by unannounced, kids pawing through wax boxes, and a bottle of cold beer here or there. We love this community we’ve managed to create over the past 5 years. It certainly wasn’t a foregone conclusion, given that we inaugurated the workshop a week before the first lockdown was announced, but we’re ultra grateful to have built up a loyal band of pals.
We welcome you Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 2pm to 6pm. Don’t hesitate to send us a message on instagram to make sure we’re not in the water!
Want to be part of this adventure ?
We are constantly developing both the quality of our board models and our distribution.
If you’re a fairly good surfer, able to provide photo and video content of clean sessions, with a fairly well-developed network of surfers (both in real life and on social networks): we’re interested in your experience in helping us develop our models!
If you are a surfshop, we offer our range of boards at wholesale prices on stock or custom boards for your customers.
