Dana
We are excited to introduce the Dana model. I had the privilege of restoring a stunning 1964 Phil Edwards (9’8″, 21 1/4″, 3 1/8″), an iconic board from the ’60s featuring full 50/50 rails and a reverse D-fin. Inspired by this experience, I developed the Dana with a slightly more relaxed rocker and an increased width of 1½”, while maintaining thinner rails with a bit of roundness leading to its relatively narrow squash tail. The bottom shape features a gentle rolled vee, providing a pleasant and smooth glide.
Regarding the fin, as a fan of flex, we designed a modern fin that provides the right amount of flex without being excessive. It features a generous base and a greater rake than our usual designs. This fin adds a touch of modernity while maintaining versatility, making it suitable for testing on other longboards as well.
This board can be seen as a more classic version of the Speed Shape, sitting halfway between a glider and a rounder longboard. After surfing it in various conditions, I am convinced that the Dana has a rightful place in our range of boards offered today.
